SPANISH MARKET EXPANDS BY 15%
Spain has recorded its best September for 5 years, with volume of transactions having increased by 15% compared to the same month last year.
According to the Spanish property register, over 27,000 homes were sold in the month of September. Home sales have been reported to have increased every month in 2015, with the previous four months seeing the most significant growth.
The news follows on from property sales in the Costa del Sol increasing by 30% this year alone. This region, along with other coastal areas such as the Costa Blanca, has seen one of the strongest recoveries and there has been an overwhelming amount of interest from British buyers as the pound continues to see very favourable rates against the Euro.
Comments from Sequre
Sequre’s managing director, Graham Davidson, comments on the rise in Spanish home sales:
“We are experiencing a strong recovery for Spain and this is set to continue for the foreseeable future. News of a market increase further adds to the continued interest from buyers we have seen over the last 18 months as the appetite for Spanish property continues to see no signs of slowing down. Whilst prices still remain low, the market is picking up, prices are gradually starting to rise and sales levels are high. This, along with the wide variety of property available, results in perfect buying conditions for those wanting to purchase a property in Spain.
“Areas such as Marbella and Alicante are ticking many boxes for international buyers and will no doubt have played a part in this significant rise in property sales. There shouldn’t be any doubts about the future of the economy as, prices are expected to continue to rise in the coming months, so all signs point to a strong and healthy ongoing recovery.”
