SEQURE'S MANCHESTER SEMINAR IS ANOTHER SUCCESS
On Friday 22nd May, Sequre hosted yet another sell out buy to let seminar
Held at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, the exclusive event entitled “The Secret to Smarter Property Investment”, saw over 150 guests attend to hear talks from a number of experts in the property industry. Speakers included Sequre’s own award winning director, Michael Sacks, Rupert MacKay, director from Hometrack, Ascend Properties’ portfolio manager Lora Roberts and tax partner of Baker Tilly, Colin Smyth. The day was hosted by writer and property TV personality, Melissa Porter. For those who missed the day, here’s a round-up of what happened:
Michael Sacks looked at how investors could be smart when purchasing buy to let property.
He guided attendees through a general market overview as well as delving into the different areas of buy to let that investors could consider dependent on their circumstances; such as overseas, renovation and student property. He went on to give examples of how investors can fully maximise their returns on cash invested and increase their overall net worth of assets. Michael was also able to announce details of a brand new property deal sourced by Sequre, available exclusively to those who attended the seminar.
The second speaker of the day was Rupert MacKay, director at Hometrack, a leading provider for the UK’s residential property and housing information. Rupert was able to give a full in-depth market analysis and talked guests through why now is the best time to invest in property. As well as reviewing the past and present housing trends, he also gave some insights on what he thought was in store for the property market over the coming years.
After a short break and networking opportunity, Lora Roberts, portfolio manager at Ascend Properties, looked at the benefits of being a hands-off property investor and gave a full overview of the benefits of using a lettings and property management agent to maximise the return on your investment. Her presentation explained how an agent could assist in terms of managing property portfolios, as well as the importance of marketing properties well to ensure it gains maximum interest from tenants.
Following on from Lora was Colin Smyth, tax partner at Baker Tilly. Colin gave us a detailed talk on the tax implications of buy to let property and explained how property investors can ensure their assets are as tax efficient as possible. He also delved into planning opportunities, property ownership structures and how to deal with rental incomes and profits.
Finally, the day ended with a short presentation from Sequre client, Nic Griffiths. Nic explained how he came to build his property portfolio with the help of Sequre and spoke of his own personal experiences of using a property investment company to embark on his buy to let journey. He went on to discuss how he first came to be an investor, how he came across Sequre and why he chose to become a hands-off landlord.
Sequre’s seminars are always incredibly popular with attendees. From those who are at the start of their buy to let search to those with multi-million pound property portfolios. Our educational seminars are well received regardless of experience due to the quality of our speakers and the topics they cover.
